I have been a gardener for over 35 years and my style is "I know, therefore I do". When writing blog posts trying to dissect the why of what I do can be challenging. I know what I'm doing, but trying to explain to someone why I'm doing it makes me do a lot of researching and thinking. I also want to be honest and not misleading so sometimes things can be a little unclear. I have found when researching zones every site has a different zone for a plant. Some say 3, another says 4, and another 5. I try to go with the consensuses or just do a range. Zones can also be tricky as a zone 4 plant may survive in zone 3.

I rent my land so I've been hesitant to put in perennials as I have been given the warning that the land could be developed at anytime. I'm hoping I'll get a couple of months warning, but been told one day it will be developed. I have decided to slowly add perennials just so I have knowledge on whether they survive in zone 3 and how they "act" in zone 3. I have a gorgeous hyssop plant and a couple of Shasta daisy plants growing. I highly recommend both.

I'm also a knowledge seeker. I love learning and reading. Sometimes I think I over research stuff, but hey you can never know enough. I try to make sure my posts have the best information and that what I'm writing is clear. That being said I would still encourage you to seek out other sites to broaden your knowledge on all things plants, gardening, vegetables...............

When writing posts I often think I should pay more attention to what I'm doing during the summer. I should document more on what plants are doing, take more pictures, etc. It gets crazy during the summer and all my good intentions of documenting more go out the window. It's a matter of surviving and enjoying each day. Last year I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and it has made life interesting. I also suffer from chronic exhaustion, I've been tired 24/7 for over 15 years and doctors don't know why. I have to be careful of how much I push myself and need to listen to my body. I love gardening, I love sharing my knowledge, and I love learning new things.
