This is a company that is based in the USA and they are located in Maine. This is a company I sometimes order from. I can usually find what I'm looking for at another company or I can substitute what I want with something different. They have a large selection of seeds and some things you can't find anywhere else. Check out their statice and zinnia varieties! They also have two varieties of squash you can't get anywhere else.

The other thing I really like about this company is there website, it has tons of information on growing vegetables and flowers. They also have lots of comparison tables so it's easy to spot what the differences are between varieties. This is especially useful when looking at sunflowers.

This year I ordered from Johnny's as I needed black futsu squash seeds. Finding this seed in Canada at a reasonable price is extremely difficult. There was a seed company out of BC (BC Eco Seed Co-op) that had reasonable priced seed, but nothing else on their site I needed and they also charge shipping.

Black Futsu Seed

Johnny's 250 seeds $17.20 US ($23.46)

ISC 15 seeds $3.99 so 150 seeds would be $39.90.

WSC 100 seeds $41.99

BESC 500 seeds $48.00

I ended up ordering 10 items from this site. Shipping was $25 US ($34.11 CND) and paid $47.54 in duty so yeah the fees are kind of ridiculous ($81.65). I ended up with 1,200 squash seeds and 500 pumpkin seeds plus 100 pepper seeds, 80 tomato seeds, and 750 flower seeds. In the grand scheme of things the pricing is not that bad! I have heard of people combining orders so the fees are spread out so that is one idea to cut down costs. This idea could even work with other seed companies. Get together with some friends or acquaintance, look through various seed catalogues and put in orders.

The chart below is what they charge for shipping.
