Manitoba Seed Companies

LP Farm Store is located in Manitoba. A popular saying is "support local", unfortunately as a "commercial" grower it's not feasible for me to "support local" when it comes to seed companies. I order so many seeds that I need to make sure I'm getting the best bang for my buck. As a home gardener it would be feasible to "support local"

T and T Seeds I have ordered from this company. I find the prices to be expensive compared to other seed seeds and the other meh is that they charge shipping. They are based in Headingly, which is located near Winnipeg. Germination has always been good.

Lindenberg Seeds I have ordered from this company. Germination was really good. They do not have an online store, instead you need to download their seed catalogue and fill out a form. To be fair, it's not that big of deal, but it's kind of annoying when almost all other companies have online stores. Looking through their catalogue some are priced comparatively to other seed companies. The cucumbers and peppers appear to be priced higher. They do charge an $11.95 handling fee on orders under $85. I can't find info on shipping, but an $11.95 handling fee is quite expensive when compared to other seed companies.

Heritage Harvest Seeds I have never ordered from this company, though there selection of seeds looks really interesting. They are based in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. They do charge a shipping fee of $12.00 and you need to order over $20.00. If you order over $200 the shipping is free. The prices are reasonable, when compared to other seed companies I order from. All the varieties they sell are heirlooms.

McKenzie Seeds This company is located in Brandon, Manitoba. I have ordered from this company, but it is not one of my usual seed companies. I can usually find this companies seeds in store. Last year I was able to find pelleted rainbow carrots in store, which made me super excited! All orders over $35 ship for free and they promise fast shipping. Pricing looks reasonable, but it's hard to say because they don't give the seed count. I really like their website and all the information they provide.
